As a result of the team's "Racing for a Cause" fundraiser using sponsorships to the Memphis in May triathlon, Memphis Thunder has presented a donation of $5653.00 to the Church Health Center on July 16, 2008.
This donation will be used to sponsor one full day of operations at the Hope and Healing Center, and will also provide seed money for a new spin program at the center. This spin program is designed to help parents and kids in the city of Memphis participate together in a healthy and safe workout as part of a strategy to help combat the epidemic of childhood obesity.
Thunder thanks both its members who participated in raising these funds, and those who donated to this worthy cause.
