Memphis Thunder Racing was represented by Jeff Fejfar, Billy Tune and Josh Hallett at the 2009 USAT National Age Group Championships this past Saturday, August 22nd.
This olympic-distance race brought together the top age group athletes from across the country to compete for spots to represent Team USA at the World Championships in 2010. The 1.5k swim, 40k bike and 10k run took place just outside the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Due to heavy rains during the days preceding the event, the currents of the Black Warrior River added an extra challenge for athletes competing in this event and gave strong swimmers a distinct advantage. The challenges continued with a very hilly, but open bike course and a hilly run course, as well. Overall it was a great event for all those who participated.
Congratulations to each of you on your great accomplishments! You make Thunder proud.
